Is it better for children to grow up in a village or the city?
Do you remember the days of your childhood when our grandparents took care of us in the village? All that freedom, playing outdoors all day, rosy cheeks, torn and soiled clothes at the end of the day, for the child that is a happy childhood. Maybe, someone complained as a child because he did not want to stay in the village, but today he is certainly grateful to his parents for taking him there. Whether you have friends or you play alone, in a country ambient the game never ends. In the world of rural children, curiosity, research, and activity are the most represented. In the evening when it gets dark you are so tired that you have the strength just to take a bath, eat and go to sleep. Both body and spirit are filled with positive energy during the day in nature, and this is very important for kids trough growing up. Is it better for a child to grow up in a village or a city? Imagine your child in both environments and compare.
The advantages of country life
The advantages of country life are greater than children’s eyes and minds can understand about growing up in the city. Until starting school, a child should play, enjoy growing up freely, in his childhood. The city usually includes growing up with guidance, which we have, in kindergarten, in the park, through the media, all around us. The village stimulates in every child the imagination and interest in various activities. There is a huge difference between the village and the city in the winter when it snows. It stays in the village longer and stays white longer. There is still much more greenery in the village, but also insects such as mosquitoes and flies. Also, children can get to know the charms of silence and the sounds of animals at night.
Life in the city
Life in the city has more resources for guidance, child education, much more complex socialization, and better prepared for school. It is much easier for children to grow up in the city to fit into the school system of activities because life in the city must be organized. One of the biggest differences between children from the village and children from the city are the possibility of choice. Children from the city have many opportunities for various interests. The city is full of various events and all the modern technology surrounds them that is available to them. How good it is or not, each parent decides what it’s best for his child. Socializing in parks, in kindergarten, on birthdays is very important for children. In preschool, children have a great need to connect with their peers.
Some activities in the village that the girl Katarina likes:
Curiosity, study, fun…
We have a real country girl! She lives in the city, but the village is in her heart. Today she learned how to work with a corn grinder. Her grandfather was a teacher. Curiosity, study, fun…it was all there. Great day for learning!
Kitchen work
Cooking, rolling dough, decorating, baking… Our grandmother eats home-made food and participates in making it. Today we were real bakers, and we had a lot of fun.
Playing
Playing on playgrounds in nature provides children with many physical and mental benefits. Physical benefits include multiple developments of motor skills such as running, jumping, balancing, and strength. It mentally strengthens you through outdoor activities and strengthens your self-confidence through the positive vibrations that are in nature around you. Today we enjoyed our natural playground.
A perfect game
I enjoy watching when a child plays in the mud, sand. I want to go back to my childhood when all the cakes turned out perfectly. Ingredients, dishes, molds, decorations were all around me. A perfect game at the perfect time! I adored it in my time!
Picking fruit
Katarina’s first strawberries. A happy and joyful moment for her! We planted them first, and now we harvest the fruits and enjoy their taste.
Planting seeds
Planting seeds is our favorite activity in the garden. We enjoy giving life to this beautiful flower. We learn to take care of our nature. Katarina had a great day!
Gardening
Katarina constantly says that she would like to live there. She says that there is a lot of greenery, various places to play, pets, animals she can take care of, gardens with flowers, vegetables, fruits … As a mother, and as a child a long time ago, I completely understand her.
Flowers
There are days when we plant seeds, but now we move the flowers to a larger pot. Katarina takes care of every plant. She likes to be a part of everything. To see how it is done, she wants to always learn something new.
Farm animals
We take care of our farm animals. It is very important to teach children responsibility and caring. She loves it when she feels useful. Animals love her because she gives them attention and takes care of them. She says that all those animals are part of our family. A feeling that cannot be felt in the urban way of life.
The countryside
Children who live in the countryside have a healthier childhood because they spend more time in nature, playing in the forests, meadows. They have a lot of animals that they have to learn a lot about, to take care of. It is safer for children in the village than in the city. The children are involved in agricultural work and helping to raise animals. The food they eat is mostly produced by them in the village. That is why children in the countryside are healthier. The advantage of children who live in the countryside is that they do not have as much entertainment as children from the city, such as, to run to the park, playroom, but design their entertainment. They spend most of the day in the fresh air completing their duties and in their free time making mud cakes or climbing trees, thus developing creativity. The village can give children a healthy and creative life, full of peace and freedom of movement in nature.
The city
Children who live and grow up in the city have greater opportunities to attend cinemas, theaters, playroom, sports matches. Modern technology is more accessible to them, kids are educated faster and everything is more accessible to them in the media and technology. It is more likely that they will later fit in more easily with the standards of modern life because knowledge and dexterity in technological matters is the first step towards success in the business for which they will need it. By playing games on the computer, children develop different abilities, learn to read more easily and learn a foreign language.
Everything has its advantages and disadvantages, but if you can live in the city and go to the village with your family from time to time, that is a complete success for the children and you.
